New from Crabtree & Evelyn: Black Absinthe Perfume

Crabtree & Evelyn is a new brand for me, now don't get me wrong I know all about the brand and it's long standing beauty botanical heritage

But to be honest whenever I've thought about them, my thoughts always leaned towards the idea of scents from a vintage English garden, which is not my general scent of choice

That is until I was recently introduced to the brand at a recent press launch, and was blown away by how beautiful, modern and complex a lot of their scents are.

Case in point, their newly launched Black Absinthe Eau de Cologne, described as:

"Absinthe began as a herbal tincture before transforming into the muse of the French bohemian crowd in what became known as the green hour. It was drunk as a way to relax and thought by some to increase creativity. Paying homage to absinthes rich history, this contemporary cologne underscores the herbaceous notes of absinthe, artemisia and fennel flower and blends it with the smooth tones of black liquorice, peppery vetiver and a creamy tonka base for lasting sensuality."

The Review: Sisley Eau Tropicale Perfume

I love the smell of rain on a hot summers day or rather the smell before it rains and/or just afterwards. It’s a strong combination of both sweet and fresh and always makes me want to take in big, huge breathes

So when I read about Sisleys Eau Tropicale perfume that launched earlier this year, I was intrigued.

Described as

“A fragrance reminiscent of the intriguing, sultry and perfumed atmosphere that prevails after a tropical rainstorm.

A delightful escape to the heart of a far-flung, mysterious land filled with the song of colourful birds, delicious fruits and exotic flower accords.”

It has fast become my new signature summer scent.

The fragrance opens with exotic floral blends of hibiscus, passion flower and frangipani and spicy hints of ginger and bergamot. At its heart are tuberose, Turkish rose and violet. And the base notes include the sensual warm smell of cedar, patchouli and ambrette seed.

It’s quite a complex perfume to describe, the first notes that hit you are quite strong and peppery almost, I believe that is the Ginger and Bergamot and then it mellows into a warm, sweeter scent that seems to melt and wrap around your skin.

Alesha Dixons New Fragrance Launch - Rose Quartz

Last week I was invited to Alesha Dixon's new fragrance launch called Rose Quartz at St Martins Lane Hotel.

I will have a full review of the fragrance in another post but just wanted to share a few images from the event.

Can I just say though that she looked Absolutely Gorgeous. She was literally glowing and as for her beautiful skin!! Don't get me started!

Oh and her lovely dress is from House of Holland and is called the Starburst Disco Dress and those gorgeous shoes I wished I could run off with are from Sophia Webster (you all know I have an obsession for all things coral or peach)

P.s please excuse the quality of some of the images - I struggled a little bit with the lighting

Ok seriously how beautiful is she!!
