Aeroplane Beauty Tips

I’m so exited! I’m going to the Algarve in Portugal tomorrow and I will be there for a week to celebrate my wedding anniversary and Mr. LPM’s birthday (which are literally a day apart). Sun, sea and sand! I honestly can’t wait!

Now while I love going on holiday, one thing I hate is the drying aeroplane air on the plane to get there. There is a lack of humidity in the plane and the dry air looks for moisture wherever it can find it, which unfortunately means the skin.

So I thought I would share some of my aeroplane beauty tips that I find helps to minimise dry/dehydrated skin when I get off the plane.

Aeroplane Beauty products

Prior to flying

  • I drink a lot of water already but the week before I fly I tend to guzzle water like a bit of a fish, I basically up my water intake to ensure I am nice and hydrated

The flight date

  • First I start it off by dancing around and excitedly singing we are all going on a summer holiday then I follow it up with the following beauty routine. I wash my face as per normal, apply a hydrating face mask and then follow this with a hydrating serum, moisturiser and sun protection (the sun protection is extremely important especially if I’m flying during the daytime as I’m that much closer to the suns rays)
  • If my own hair is out (which it currently is) I apply a leave in conditioner, seal it with an oil and then pop it into a bun to protect my ends

During the flight

  • I apply another of face moisturiser and sun protection to act as an additional protective layer against the drying air

  • I also apply some eye cream and lip balm

  • I never apply a face mist or toner to my face during the flight simply because as mentioned above the air will try to absorb any kind of moisture so it will absorb the toner along with the moisture in my face

  • I only drink water and completely avoid caffeine and fizzy drinks

  • Just before the flight lands, I apply a little bit of tinted moisturiser and a tinted lip balm. (Oh and huge sunglasses seeing as my eyes are completely bare of makeup)

Post flight/just before I sleep

  • I cleanse my face with a gentle cleanser and use a gentle face scrub to remove any dry skin that might have built up during the flight. I then apply a hyaluronic acid hydrating serum followed by a hydrating facemask and eye cream. I sleep with all this on and the next morning my face is plump and moisturised.

The products I’m taking along for this routine (from left to right) are:
  1. Caudalie SOS Thirst Quenching Serum
  2. Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentrate
  3. La Roche Posay Anthelios XL 50 – Sun Protection
  4. Blistex Relief Lip Cream
  5. La Prairie Cellular Eye Contour Cream
  6. Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser
  7. Sleek Pout Polish
  8. Dermalogic Daily Microfoliant
  9. Hydraluron Face Serum
  10. Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Mask
