Olympia Beauty Picture Post

So on Sunday I went to the Olympia Beauty exhibition in London.  It was mainly a trade focused event for people in the beauty industry but my main reason for going was to hear Eryca Freemantle talk about her AWOC campaign which stands for All Women of Colour.

Eryca is working with Olympia Beauty, to push the business of beauty in relation to women of colour to the forefront in the beauty industry.

I thought I would just share a few images from the event.

#54 Are you ready to Blush? New Beauty Boutique hits Nigeria

How Exciting!!! Thought I would let you all about a new beauty boutique called Blush that will soon be opening in Nigeria. Prior to the launch which will be happening early next year, Blush will be hosting a pop-up boutique called "Dare to Blush" to provide you with a little taster and to showcase exclusive products and treatments.

Taking place on 5 December 2009 at Piccolo Mondo, the brands available include Aromatherapy Associates used by celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna; the Deborah Lippmann nail collection used by stars like Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonce and Mary J Blige to the fantastic Janet Carter haircare solutions used by Alicia Keys and Oprah.

Now if that wasn't enough the day will also include canapés, champagne, pampering treatments, free makeovers and hair consultations/styling.

I personally am so impressed, I love when women decide to go for their dreams and it also means you can finally get access to some of those brands that you are always hearing about but which unfortunately were not accessible - till now!! The only downer is I can't go...hmmpf.

Topshop has recently confirmed its plans for a makeup collection to launch in 2010 – but annoyingly everything to do with the plans are a bit hush hush and under major lock and key. The only information available is that it will be a joint collaboration with a well known makeup artist! I’m guessing they will be British, famous and a rocker of sorts. Any ideas anyone?

Tyra Banks will be showing off her real hair!!! Yes you heard that right her real hair, on her talk show on September 8th – I guess we will have to wait for the You Tube postings. She says on her twitter page “Guess What! I'm rockin' my REAL hair on my talk show September 8th. No fake hair at all! Will be the hair coming out of my scalp! 4 all 2 C! no ponytails, no ballet bun head. hair will be out and free!”….hmmm any thoughts on how long this will last for?

#11 Beauty News - Beverley Knight launches new makeup range

Soul singer Beverley Knight MBE will be launching her first cosmetics range, K By Beverley Knight this September. Created specially for women with darker skin tones, the range will include 15 products, from oil-free foundations through to eyeliners and highlighters and it promises to address all the issues that are currently overlooked for women of colour. It will be launched exclusively on the 14th September in Selfridges (for one month) to coincide with the launch of her new album “100%”. It will then be rolled out to John Lewis and other retailers from October. I can’t wait to see it! And will keep you all posted.
